I-39 Smokin Car Show Named Automatic Qualifier for World Food Championships
The I-39 Smokin Car Show will have a featured representative at the 2017 World Food Championships in Orange Beach, Alabama, according to Mike McCloud, CEO of the World Food Championships.
“More than 400 pre-qualified competitors will enter one of nine competition categories beginning Nov. 8, and the champion of the I-39 Smokin Car Show will be among them,” McCloud said.
The I-39 Smokin Car Show is sending a winner from its 2017 event to compete against the World Food Championships roster of Golden Ticket contestants.
“Stakes are high and the competition is intense with a total purse of $350,000 in cash and additional prizes, while the ultimate World Food Champion takes home a grand prize of $100,000,” McCloud said.
There are four categories to test your BBQ skills. Judging will begin at noon on Sunday July 2nd. Categories and judgings times are below:
12:00 noon - Chicken
12:30 PM - Pork Ribs
1:00 pm - Pork - shoulder or butt
1:30 pm - Beef Brisket
All KCBS rules and regulations will be followed. All meat must be cooked with wood or charcoal on site. Limit one entry per category. By registering for this event you agree to to abide by the rules and regulations of the Kansas City Barbeque Society and waiver of liability. Only one vehicle per entry will be allowed within the contestant parking area. No electricity for RV's will be provided but there will be electricity for cooking if needed.
Set-up for this event begins Saturday July 1st at 7am in the parking lot on the 500 block of Chestnut Street. Friday night set-up availble upon request.

1st Place - each category
2nd Place - each category
3rd Place - each category
4th Place - each category
5th Place - each category
